Pomegranate Shadow

Out of all pomegranate paintings, I love the ones with skin cuts showing tiny juicy seeds inside.... I plan on painting more pomegranate halves in the future. It is a lot of fun to paint them! Hope you enjoy this one!

Pomegranate in a Bowl

I always wanted to paint a pomegranate with a little cut in the skin, and show some seeds shyly peeking... So as an experiment, I bought one pomegranate, made a little cut in it, and arranged a few still life set-ups. They all looked good to paint! So I painted some! So far this one is my absolute favorite! :)

Rolling Out

Originally, I planned to place two tomatoes on the vine in the bowl, and take a picture. However, while I was placing them, the heaviest tomato weighed the bowl down and tried to escape :) And suddenly it was perfect for picture taking! I added a few water drops.... just because I love adding water drops so much! :)

The painting was made on a 5x7x1/8 inch Ampersand gessoed hard board using professional grade acrylic paint.

Reflection

I have a new painting crush: fruit in bowls. I got some dip bowls, but they look so cute with pears and apples in them. So I got inspired, and now I cannot stop! :) Hope you like it too!

Sliced Avocado

Today I am having an avocado slice painting! Avocados are certainly a joy to paint, and sometimes it is very hard to stop :) Well, I can easily get carried away, and paint a lot of pretty much anything, but avocados are on top of the list!

I love this piece because it is so bright, and it makes me happy just looking at it! I added a tiny water drop on the table. I thought it would be a tiny cute addition to the piece!

Cherries on Laced Cloth

I decided to paint these cherries for two reasons. First, I love painting cherries :) And second, my grandma had linen and cotton cloth on every piece of her furniture. I absolutely adored looking at them! It is hard to believe it now, but they were hand-made by her, including the most intricate designs! Most of them are gone now, but I brought a few to the US with me. So I used it for this cherry set-up. I hope you would love this painting in your home. You definitely get a piece of my heart with this painting.

This painting is made on a 5x5x1/8 inch Ampersand archival museum quality gesso board using professional grade acrylic paint.

Strawberry Trio

I really love this strawberry trio. It reminds me of my carefree childhood. I would pick up a bunch of strawberries, wash them and eat them while reading my favorite O'Henry's short stories outside.
This piece was a joy to paint!

A Bowl of Red Apples

Apples are my favorite fruit! I eat a lot of them. Every time I go to the grocery store to buy a bag of apples, the cashier asks me if I am going to make an apple pie. No, I say, I eat them just like that. Usually, after I say this, people in the line gasp... lol maybe because I buy a big bag of apples. Somehow I always try to squeeze a lot of apples into one bag.... :) And sometimes I buy two bags.... :) One time something funny happened. I just finished explaining that I eat them raw, when the lady in line behind me looked at me, and told her husband, "That's it! I am eating apples starting tomorrow!" :)

In the Spotlight

Painting donuts is a lot of fun! They come in so many varieties! I like to paint them leaning on blue Moroccan kitchen tiles. A bright pink donut covered with lots of multi-colored sprinkles on blue background! What can possibly make us happier while drinking a coffee cup in the morning? :)

The painting is 6x6x1.5' on gallery wrapped (deep profile) canvas. The sides are painted blue to harmonize!
